Oven Fried Chicken Wings
Fried chicken is one of the most popular foods in the world. Just about every culture has their own rendition of fried chicken. No matter where you eat fried chicken, they all have one thing in common: it’s pretty unhealthy. I wish that I could eat fried chicken without having to think of the calories and health effects. And luckily I was able to achieve a recipe that allows me to do just that.
Despite being cooked in the oven, these wings come out quite crispy. The baking powder in the recipe is what allows the skin to crisp up in the oven. A wire rack is essential in this recipe; the chicken being elevated prevents one side from having to be soggy by resting on a pan. I love making this recipe whenever I want a healthier alternative to wings. They taste just as great coated in wing sauce as fried wings do. My personal favorite are buffalo wings and wings coated in my honey sriracha sauce. These wings are great to serve at parties or on game days. And the best thing is you won’t feel guilty about how many of these delicious wings you eat!

Recipe Tips
- These wings taste great coated in your favorite sauce.
- The seasonings included in this recipe are for regular flavored wings. Here are some unique suggestions for wing flavors: Old Bay seasoning; Sazon seasoning; cilantro and lime seasoning; lemon pepper seasoning.
- You cannot substitute the baking powder for anything else. They are the key to making the wings crispy.
- If you want your wings crispier and juicier, consider allowing the wings to sit in the fridge overnight after coating in baking powder.
- You should be using about 1 tsp baking powder for each pound of wings you have. Consider that when using more or less chicken for this recipe.
